When it comes to our Florida,

concrete is the natural choice.

DRIVE ON…
CONCRETE FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT

Concrete is Better for the Environment

The environmental impact of a paved surface cannot be based solely on the construction process. You can’t get the full picture from examining only raw materials used or stop looking once you learn that the finished product can be recycled. That’s why we examined all these angles, and no matter which way you look at it, concrete is better for the environment than asphalt. Concrete conserves oil where asphalt requires oil for production. Concrete roads help reduce excess fuel consumption, thereby reducing vehicle emissions. Pervious concrete parking lots help return rainwater to the ground, filtering out pollutants to protect streams, lakes and our planet’s limited drinking water. Last but not least, concrete is 100% recyclable.

Concrete Improves Our Quality of Life

Cleaner air. Cleaner water. Safer cities. These are the components of a future that all Florida residents want – and deserve. With concrete, this future can be a reality. We can reduce greenhouse gases, smog, emissions, energy costs, water runoff, flooding, excess fuel consumption, water pollutants, and even crime! All we need to do is choose concrete. Education is the first step, and then comes action. Spread the word. Reach out to your local government officials. Get involved with city planning. Insist that our roads and parking lots be paved with concrete. Demand a better future for Florida.
